Weekly Walking Soccer Sessions

Currently our sessions are free and held once a week. The time and location is subject to change.

 Coaching

No previous soccer experience required.  Our sessions are run by licensed coaches that can help you get fit to play., teach you the skills, and the rules. If you played soccer before you are more than welcome.

What is Walking Soccer?

Walking Soccer is a modified version of the traditional game where players walk instead of run. No heading is allowed as well as no contact.

It is perfect for those over 60 looking to stay active and enjoy playing a sport. It is popular in England and throughout Europe.

In the USA it is established in California, Washington State, and Hawaii.

It is just starting in Minnesota.

 

 

 

What if I never played soccer before?

No previous experience is required. Those that played before and those that have not are both welcome. If you are new to soccer our coaches will show you how to play and teach you the rules of the game.    

How can I sign up to play Walking Soccer?

You can sign up by clicking JOIN on our home page or at our Contacts page. Both will take you to a form to register on. Please register even if you just plan to drop in and see what it is like. We need a count in order to plan for each event.

 

Do I need to bring anything or need any special equipment?

 Shorts are and a tee shirt are preferred.

 Tennis shoes, indoor or turf  soccer shoes are preferred to cleats in order to lessen tripping events. Baseball cleats are not allowed. 

Bring water to stay hydrated.

Bring a soccer ball if you have one.. 

FYI: The official ball used for Walking Soccer is called a Futsal ball (size 4) but any soccer ball is ok to start with.

 

Will I be able to join a team?

We are just starting out. Teams will be based on the number of participants. Our future goal is to form teams and start a Walking Soccer League.

How often and where are the practices/games held?

Practice/Games are currently held weekly and are 1.5 hrs long.  See Weekly Walking Soccer Sessions above for current time, day of the week, and lield location.
